CASINO PLAYERS EZINE #95

Hello Fellow Slot Players:

As promised, we take a look at the new slot versions for 2007 presented by the Slot Mfgs. at the Global Gaming Expo last year. Our feature article: IGT 2007 Slots focuses on the largest of the Manufacturers and what this year will bring for slot players.
Some of these slots are already on the casino floor, others will be along soon for you to explore and play. I continue with the IGT theme publishing 3 slot reviews.

We discussed One Clubs in the last issue and that leads us to the Question of the Month for March. What is your favorite Players/Slot Club?

Lastly, find three Winning Jackpot Stories, the first of which will bring a gasp at the luck of Eleanor who did not utilize the max coin rule at a progressive slot.

Casino Players Ezine is available online twice/month at casinoplayersezine.com. Archive of past issues are located at: casinoplayersezine.com/archive.

Slots Review

1) Red Hottie: IGT. 6 spins. 85-98%

Beginning with the basics, you are playing a Triple Red Hot 7’s where playing a second coin activates the 3X wild symbol and the jackpot is tripled. 3 coins can bring you a top jackpot of 3,000 coins.
Additionally, you can bet 10 credits a spin activating the 4th reel containing dice symbols and bypassing the primary game.
A 4 on the dice repeats the roll, 5 pays a mystery bonus and 6 triggers the Red Hottie Bonus.
1, 2 or 3 on the dice and the game is over.
Red Hottie Bonus raises your credit amount by 5 to 1000 credits and now it’s decision time.
You can wave the initial bonus and look at three more offers before a final acceptance.
This slot allows the player 2 choices—stay with the base game or add to your bet and find out how ‘red hot’ the action can be.

2) World Poker Tour: IGT. 87-88%. 3 spins

Poker pros including Doyle Brunson welcome you to the World Poker Tour that resets at $1million for the top jackpot of five Aces.
You will benefit with higher pays and bonuses if you cover all paylines and participate in the ante wager. For each hand/spin of seven-card poker if the result is a full house or better, you move on the All-in Free Spin Bonus. The pay window changes for this bonus round with certain pay symbols and tokens offering higher payouts.
The great feature about this exciting slot is that even if you are not a poker player, you can still ‘take the tour’.

3) All Star Poker: IGT. varies, 2 spins

IGT, the king of Video Poker play, raises the bar with multi hand VP and a choice of 8 games.
VP players will find their favorites like Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Bonus Poker, Double Bonus or Jokers at one machine.
Select your game from the vertical menu offering any or all of the versions: Triple Play Draw Poker, Five Play Draw Poker, Ten Play Draw Poker, Double Pay Poker, Five Aces Poker, Chase the Royal, Super Times Pay Poker, Trade Up Poker, Bonus Hand Triple Play Poker and 9-line Spin Poker. Decide your game, then triple, five or ten play.
Use your best playing strategies for these versions and ‘do the VP dance’ as you change your choices at the same machine.

Jackpot Bulletin: Winning Stories

One, Two System that Worked

Eleanor Barkauskas, a secretary from Waterbury, CT used a one, two credit system when playing Megabucks at Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort leaving her open to a lost progressive jackpot if max coin was not in play.
Luck was obviously on her side when she was rewarded with a $2,747,332 Megajackpot. After recovering from the shock, Barkauskas stated, “my worries are over.”
Future plans include replacing her 13-year-old car and “I can retire without worrying about health insurance or bills.”

Waiting for that Jet Plane in Vegas

Even though most people walk away empty handed playing at the airport, Frank Garrett proves them wrong with a big hit of $363,903. at a Wheel of Fortune quarter slot. Garrett, a 51 year old roofing contractor from Rohnert Park, CA and his wife Jenny were on their way home when a Five Times Pay Wheel caught Frank’s attention.
“When I played baseball, my number was 5”, said Garrett. “So, when I saw this Wheel of Fortune with a 5X, I picked it.” Garrett will immediately leave his winnings with his ‘bookkeeper’ wife Jenny and plans to keep on working.

What a Catch!

In Sarah Mae Bolk’s own words, she was “fishing at a cabin resort and comes here every year to play.” But after playing Wheel of Fortune for the first time, she was down to only 70 credits.
This particular Wheel at Kewadin Manistique Casino in Michigan then lined up just right to the tune of $976,786. Bolk, from Leslie, MI originally thought the award was going to be $1500.
Future plans include a new boat and car.
