Featured Article: Slots Personality Questionnaire

J. Phillip Vogel, a fellow gaming writer, has put together the Questionnaire below.
Although, the original article was targeted at online players, the 10 questions most certainly apply to land-based casino players as noted.

Featured Article: Slots Personality Questionnaire
by J. Phillip Vogel

I have created my own special slots questionnaire for online/land-based casino players.
Just read the 10 questions about your gambling habits, answer each truthfully, and find both your slots personality and your ‘ideal’ match at the end of the article.
Ready? Then let’s have some fun.

B. At least once a month.
C. At least once a week.
D. Daily—if I have the chance.

5. The number of coins you typically play per spin is:
A. The minimum needed to make the reels spin.
B. It depends on the denomination. The higher the cost, the fewer coins I play.
C. Typically the max, but I sometimes play fewer coins to stretch my bankroll.

6. Other than slots I like to play:
A. Nothing else, just slots.
B. Bingo, lottery, and other casual games.
C. A few tables games from time to time.
D. Any games that can pay big money.

7. When I find a ‘good’ (paying) machine or game, I tell my friends and family.
A. True, because I want them to make money too!
B. True, because I want to brag about my good fortune.
C. False, because I don’t want to jinx it!
D. False, because I don’t want anyone else to hone in on my profit.

8. If you could only pick one kind of comp, which would it be?
A. ‘No deposit required’ bonus to test out new site or sign-up for casino card.
B. VIP points that earn free cash, meals or rooms.
C. Sign-up/Re-load bonus on deposits
D. Cash back rewards on wins and losses

9. How many sites or land-based casinos are you currently (or have been) a member of?

OK, now that you’ve answer these questions review your answers and assign a point value to each response according to the following table:

A=1 Point
B=2 points
C=3 points
D=4 points

YOUR SCORE_______

Now, compare your score to the table below.

Points Player Type
10-20 Type I
21-33 Type II
34-40 Type III

YOUR PLAYER TYPE________

What’s Your Slots Personality?
Now that you’ve answered the questions and added up your score, it’s time to find out what kind of a slots player you are.

Player Summary
TYPE I: It’s all about the fun.

You’re more of an easy-going, recreational slots player. You have your own set of game preferences—and like to remain loyal to—but will try new things on occasion. But only if they look particularly fun or interesting. Your preferred site/casino features a nice mix of slots, but overall selection doesn’t have to be too dramatic.
You particularly like getting free cash to try out the games, and don’t like to waste your bankroll. Frugal gambling rules your play.

TYPE II: High maintenance player.
You’re looking for excitement more than anything else. You want the fun and thrill of possibly making a big score through a jackpot or progressive game, but would also settle for winning moderate amounts—as long as they were consistent. HM players usually play aggressively (and quickly) and tend to work through their entire bankroll much faster than a Type I player.

TYPE III: Strictly business.
While you think slots are entertaining, what you’re really after isn’t so much passive recreation—its money. You have allegiance to a site, casino or a game for only as long as you’re getting paid.
Type III players typically have accounts/cards with several different sites/casinos, and frequently move to new casinos that offer high comps for your action.
A ‘business player’ typically knows the payout percentage for any game played, as well as the total average for the site. You come prepared with a sizeable bankroll and aren’t afraid to use it.

Have you found your perfect match? Did you learn something about your slot-playing habits that you didn’t know before?

Slots Review

1) Bingo Nights Slotto: AC Coin, 2 spins. 87-92%

Bingo Nights is recognizable by the sphere atop the machine enclosing a group of lottery-style ball triggered during the bonus round. This sphere is used for bingo balls, in this case, along with the card.
Three bonus symbols will set the sphere in motion accompanied by the rockin’ sound of “Boogie Nights’.
Your bingo card will require a couple more numbers before Bingo! Your bonus reward will depend on the bingo balls that drop and can ‘reach the sky’ with 21,600 credits.
Double Diamond is the familiar wild icon utilized here and 1-4 of these icons will double the jackpot. Line up 5 of these classic symbols playing 180 coins and Bingo! the top jackpot of 100,000 is yours.

2) Elvis Multi Strike: IGT. 2 spins. 87%.

As Elvis slot lovers, these features will be familiar--Photo Memories Bonus with pix of our hero for Collect. Record Sales Bonus where we choose a record that produces a Silver, Gold or Platinum bonus reward.
Then there’s the Fan-O-Meter top box bonus wherein your Elvis song pick displays a film clip and a live performance by The King. The Meter cycles through a group of bonus bucks and multipliers and if the Encore level is reached, an additional prize amount is yours.
Additional features consist of three, 5-reel, 20-line separate screens that with a 300 coin max. bet will put you in the top jackpot qualifying round.
Line up the letters E-L-V-I-S on the first payline of the bottom reel set and you’ve scored a payout of 10,000 times the credits wagered.
The Rockin’ Re-Spin Bonus combines with Photo Memories and Record Sales to rack up additional credits from multipliers and wild symbols appearing during the round.
Elvis again brings fans a ‘Big Hunk O' Love’ and Big Hits.

3) S&H Green Stamps: Bally. 2 spins. 86-96%

Nostalgia reigns as slot players are taken back to 1950’s and 60’s S&H Green Stamps catalogues.
Some of the symbols include pearl-adorned housewives and toasters.
Align 4 Saver Book symbols and move on to the Quick Saver bonus. Choose one of the books and align your reward from 10 to 500 times the line bet.
The stamp credits mount and can be traded for free games with the Save and Win Bonus as follows:

Jackpot Bulletin: Winning Stories

Before the Tournament Begins. . .

Katherine Salavant, a retired nurse was awaiting the start of a slot tournament at the Isle of Capri when the $8 million sign above a Wheel of Fortune quarter progressive carousel caught her eye. Shortly, the big MegaJackpot struck for $8,224,611.
"I guess you can say I was sitting at the right machine at the right time", said the shocked winner.
"My husband just walked away and I knew I had to find him fast and tell him I won the jackpot."
Future plans for Salavant were stated as "I will probably purchase a new car and enjoy my retirement a bit more."

The Morning Win

When the jackpot hit, Charlo Vanlian, 29, a security officer from Glendale, CA said he "felt faint and in shock."
Vanlian and his friend were playing into the early hours of a Saturday morning when a Wheel of Fortune dollar slot at the Imperial Palace Casino on the Vegas Strip, a $20 bet and "feeling lucky" combined for a gigantic win of $1,152,883.
Vanlian is getting married soon and plans to use his winnings for a house down payment and thereafter, his life will surely be a smooth ride.

Happy Birthday Mr. Trucker

"I couldn’t believe it!" bellowed Preston Pringle, a self-employed truck from Tupelo, MS.
His big hit of $2,985.267 at a $5 Wheel of Fortune at Sam’s Town Casino in Robinsonville, MS was the best birthday gift a 36-year-old casino player could wish for.
"The casino workers had to tell me that I won the jackpot, because I didn’t realize it at first."
After switching machines and betting about $60, Pringle stated, "I just had a good feeling, watching the symbols line up. I’ve won several other jackpots before, but nothing like this. What a birthday this is!"
This millionaire’s plans include paying off bills, traveling, helping needy children and "just taking it easy for a while. Life for me will be more relaxed and I won’t have so much pressure."
"And, oh yeah, life will never be the same."
